About us
The United Sportsmen of Williston is a local 501c non-profit organization with goals of getting the youth involved in the outdoors hunting/fishing and known for their wildlife feeding program. This consists of raising a small grain crop, bailing it, and supplying the grains to supplement to natural feed. The group works to maintain local facilities such as the McKenzie/Williams rifle range and Lewis & Clark boat ramp, as well as hosts and provides input at the local Game & Fish advisory meetings. They also participate in youth programs such as the Williams County Ice Fishing Derby and donate to multiple organizations that promote trap/rifle shooting, hunting, and fishing including the NDHSRA Trap Club, the Williams County 4H Archery Club, WHS and WSC Clay Target Leagues, Epping Rural Fire Ice Tournament, Coyote Wrestling Club Cast and Blast, and the Badlands 600 rifle match, and many more. Each year, we give out multiple scholarships to high school graduates in the Williston and surrounding communities.
The United Sportsmen of Williston hosts an annual banquet the last Saturday of March every year at the Curling Club (Williston Upper Missouri Fairgrounds). There is a live and silent auction, gun raffles and giveaways, a mount contest, kids games, and dinner for attendees. This year it will be on March 25th with a social starting at 4:30 and the banquet beginning at 7:00.
